HEL is an international group of companies providing tools for Process Screening, Process Development, Optimisation and Reactive Hazards Assessment. We were originally established in 1987 purely as a consultancy company, a side of the company that has continued to expand and now includes a complete team of Chemists and Chemical Engineers and a fully equipped testing facility located at our London (Barnet) headquarters. The testing services we now offer include everything from simple reaction hazards screening, to complete vent size and emergency relief design, dust and vapour flammability testing together with the application of DOE techniques for process optimisation.

The same team that offers testing use their considerable experience, both in industry and in research, to offer a complete range of training, consultancy and independent process safety advice. This includes everything from incident investigation, HAZOP studies, to the design and implementation of complete safety management systems.

For over a decade we have also applied this experience to the distribution and support of a range of instrumentation for the same market. The earliest product was the SIMULAR Reaction Calorimeter, and we now offer an enviable range of systems, all built upon the foundation of innovation, ease of use and value for money.

Over 10% of our manufacturing staff are dedicated to software development, a team lead by a Chemical Engineer. The aim is to offer the most powerful and user friendly software available anywhere. In addition every member of staff is positively encouraged to become actively involved in R&D efforts, the result of which can be seen in our comprehensive range of products.
