Greener Chemistry In Flow

The use of flow is well known as a greener way of doing chemistry. Flow substantially reduces inventory and allows new chemistries to be accessed for greener processes.
HEL has developed our FlowCAT system to be a bench-scale, fixed-bed reactor capable of producing kg/day of material.
At the heart of the FlowCAT is a high temperature and pressure reactor which allows for process intensification giving access to chemistries not traditionally considered for production. Using the FlowCAT our customers have been able to develop more efficient greener processes for hydrogenation,
carbonylation and even direct oxidation with O2 to name but a few.
The technology of the FlowCAT is based upon long-standing chemical engineering knowledge of fixed bed reactors and hence can easily be scaled  to > tonne/day.
